For Black
Country Day
Copthorne Merry Hill-Dudley was at the heart of this year’s Black Country Day celebrations, hosting BBC Radio WM for a special live broadcast from the hotel.
With activities taking place across Waterfront Brierley Hill, where the hotel is located, the BBC Radio WM team brought The Ed James Show to the hotel patio overlooking the Waterfront for a four-hour outside broadcast.
The hotel welcomed radio presenter Ed James and a line-up of local guests who joined the programme to share their perspectives on the Black Country and the significance of its annual celebration.
Guests included Councillor Pete Lowe, Mayor of Dudley; Councillor Adam Aston, Deputy Mayor of Dudley; Councillor Patrick Harley, Leader of Dudley Council; local performers The Fizzogs; local historian John Homer; and Stuart Fleming, General Manager of Copthorne Merry Hill-Dudley.
Hosting the live programme gave the hotel team an opportunity to showcase the property while supporting an important local celebration that brought together the wider Black Country community.
The successful broadcast also highlighted Copthorne Merry Hill-Dudley’s role as an active part of the local community, while demonstrating the hotel’s ability to support local partnerships and host high-profile events.
Through collaborations such as this, the hotel continues to strengthen its connections with the surrounding community and position itself as a welcoming venue for local events, businesses and organisations.
