Copthorne Hotel Slough-Windsor recently brought colleagues together with two light-hearted initiatives that added plenty of fun and team spirit to the working day.

During one of the hottest weeks of June, the hotel surprised its team with a visit from an ice cream van. Colleagues stepped away from their desks to enjoy a well-earned break in the sunshine, catching up over their favourite ice cream flavours and spending time together in a relaxed setting. The simple gesture created a cheerful atmosphere and gave colleagues from different departments the chance to connect away from their usual routines.

The camaraderie continued with a Football Sweepstake organised by the HR team. The hotel canteen was decorated with football flags, while colleagues gathered for the official draw to find out which team they would be supporting throughout the tournament.

Tickets were sold at £2 each, with £86 raised for the prize fund. A tournament leader board kept the friendly competition going, prompting plenty of predictions, match-day discussions and good-natured banter as colleagues followed their teams’ progress. At the end of the tournament, Ms Ashley Vaz emerged as the lucky winner, taking home the cash prize.

From cooling off with ice cream to cheering on their football teams, both activities offered colleagues a chance to unwind, connect and enjoy some light-hearted moments together, helping to strengthen the sense of camaraderie across the hotel.
