Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) has once again been named Singapore’s most valuable hotel brand in the Brand Finance Hotels 50 2025 global ranking.
Having ranked 34th in the 2024 edition, this marks the second consecutive year that MHR has been featured in the global top 50. Since then, MHR has jumped three positions up to rank 31st globally, with a brand valuation of USD 421 million. Combined with sister brand Copthorne's USD 223 million valuation, the group's total brand value now stands at an impressive USD 644 million. This achievement further cements MHR’s standing as Singapore’s leading hospitality brand on the world stage.
Formerly Copthorne Orchid Penang, the newly launched 318-room M Social Resort Penang, was one of Chairman Kwek’s earliest acquisitions in 1989 when he expanded the hotel business portfolio. Today, it is a stunning retreat to coastal bliss in Penang, Malaysia.
The 5-star Bab Al Qasr Hotel is a luxury retreat offering 412 rooms, 114 suites, and 225 fully furnished hotel apartments on a private beach in Abu Dhabi Corniche, where modern comforts meet timeless elegance.
Mr Kwek Leng Beng, MHR Executive Chairman said: “Developing a strong and reputable brand is my priority. While growing the number of hotels is important, it’s the strength of the brand that drives sustainable growth and differentiates us in a competitive market. My personal vision is to expand our group’s portfolio globally with hundreds of Singapore flags flying in key cities around the world.”
Mr Kwek Eik Sheng, MHR Executive Director said: “Being named Singapore’s most valuable hotel brand is a proud moment for us, and a powerful validation of the work our teams have done across the board. This recognition reflects the value of our people, affirms our brand strength and supports our long-term vision to build a future-ready hospitality brand that is globally competitive and locally respected.”
Refurbished in 2023, the 453-room Grand Millennium Auckland is an atrium-styled hotel and one of the largest in New Zealand’s gateway city. This recognition reflects MHR’s strategic transformation that has been in the works for the past year. From the implementation of AI-powered assistants AVA and Ask Millie, to obtaining full GSTC certification across all Singapore hotels, as well as revamping the MyMillennium loyalty programme, the brand continues to lead with relevance in today’s competitive travel landscape through innovation, digital enablement, and guest-centric growth.
Mr Saurabh Prakash, MHR Interim Chief Operating Officer and Chief Commercial Officer said: “This achievement is the result of deliberate and focused strategy one that is deeply aligned with Chairman Kwek’s Blue Ocean vision.”
