Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) has made its ‘Grand Millennium’ entrance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with its first Grand Millennium property in the Tabuk Province.
The hotel took design inspiration from the historic Hejaz Railway, which holds great importance in Saudi Arabia’s history. The railway, which operated from 1908 to 1920 during the Ottoman Empire, was built to connect Ottoman territories starting from Damascus to the Holy City of Mecca. However, construction was interrupted because World War I, and the railway never extended beyond Medina in Saudi Arabia. One of the stops was in the Tabuk Province, and the former railway station has been converted into a museum.
MHR Middle East and Africa Chief Executive Officer Mr Kevork Deldelian said, “Grand Millennium Tabuk represents the first Grand Millennium in Saudi Arabia and unfolds a story of the bygone era. The hotel is reminiscent of the vintage Hejaz Railway and the intricate design speaks volumes of stories reminding of the nostalgic railway.”
Located close to the Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Airport, guests can take a nostalgic trip with its 218 luxury rooms, suites, and a Royal Suite over the six-storey property, each with a fascinating view of Tabuk City. Each room features photographs and wall art that feature olden-day locomotives of that bygone era.
Guests can enjoy meals at the Al Maksoura all-day dining restaurant, or the Al Multaqa lobby café and Al Manzar pool lounge. For weddings and events, the hotel’s grand ballroom offers 1,082 square metres of space with a total capacity of up to 800 guests, as well as five meeting rooms totalling 283 square metres. The hotel also includes a large recreation area, with indoor and outdoor swimming pools and children and adults, separate gym and spa facilities for ladies and gentlemen, two tennis courts, a multipurpose court, and a children’s play area.
