In celebration of its 60th Anniversary, the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (REDAS) unveiled an immersive experiential showcase on the transformation of Singapore’s cityscape, in conjunction with Singapore’s Bicentennial year.

Comprising two multimedia domes, the REDAS Bicentennial Event showcases perspectives of the built environment, highlighting developers’ contributions towards Singapore’s urban development over the years.

The event launch on 21 August was graced by Minister for National Development Mr Lawrence Wong. In his opening address, he acknowledged REDAS’ contribution to nation building and expressed the need for the government to continue to build on this long-term partnership to enhance Singapore’s competitive advantage.

Reaffirming REDAS’ commitment and role as a key partner in the physical building and development of Singapore, REDAS President and CDL Group General Manager Mr Chia Ngiang Hong said, “As a long-term key stakeholder in Singapore, REDAS supports the government’s various initiatives to transform and raise the quality of our built environment. Moving ahead, developers will continue to push the envelope, transforming Singapore’s skyline dramatically and offering varied lifestyle living for all sectors of the real estate.”

The ten-day public showcase at Raffles Place Park ended on 31 August. The event was supported by REDAS members including CDL, as well as the Raffles Place Alliance, the Business Improvement Districts for the Raffles Place area, comprising precinct stakeholders from the private sector.

Beyond architectural landmarks, REDAS also paid tribute to the industry’s visionary pioneers who have made significant contributions to the community and the transformation of Singapore’s landscape, including Hong Leong Group and CDL Executive Chairman and REDAS Patron Mr Kwek Leng Beng.
