Dim sum master chef Thye Yoon Kong at Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur’s Lai Ching Yuen brings with him over 30 years of experience as he puts an interesting spin on traditional Cantonese cuisine, making dim sum more fresh and exciting. He adds creative touches while keeping in mind the significance of the ingredients, and he creates a beautiful play of flavours and textures in his open show kitchen.
Boasting over 50 varieties of savoury and sweet bite-sized delights, some of his signatures include deep-fried bean curd roll with shrimp, loh mai kai, braised seafood dumpling, Shanghainese xiaolongbao, Szechuan style steamed wonton, steamed custard bun with egg yolk and the must-try chilled durian pancake.
Taking the refinement of Cantonese cuisine to dizzying heights, the non-halal restaurant also serves a range of delectable pork dishes. Diners can opt to feast in the hushed splendour of the restaurant’s private rooms or enjoy the vibrancy of the live-action dim sum station.
