As part of their regular jaunts to Malaysia, the Hong Leong Group Sports & Recreation Club recently organised a weekend trip to Muar, a historical town and the capital of Muar District, Johor, Malaysia. 41 staff and their family members enjoyed a relaxing weekend cruising down the Muar river and feasting on durians and otah otah. Known as the “king of fruits”, the durian is a tropical fruit that is distinctive for its large size, strong odour, and formidable thorn-covered husk, while otah otah is a grilled fish cake made of ground fish meat mixed with tapioca starch and spices.
The group also learnt how to make otah otah and enjoyed a relaxing Muar river cruise, ending with a durian feast at Tangkat in Johore.
