At the recent Asia Pacific Property Awards, South Beach took home the highest industry honour of 5-stars in Best Mixed-Use Development (Singapore) category.
“Winning this award is an international acknowledgement and recognition that the vision of the Consortium has been realised. It is also a celebration of the efforts the team has put in, in order to achieve the vision. It will be a big morale booster for all,” said South Beach Consortium General Manager Ms Samantha Tan.
In its 26th year, the Awards cover 45 different residential and commercial regions, including Asia Pacific, with award winners going on to compete in the international categories. It is recognised as one of the most established awards in the industry, with nominees judged by an independent panel comprising industry experts and chaired by members of the House of Lords in the UK Parliament. The awards honours the best companies in areas of design, quality, innovation, service, originality, and commitment to sustainability.
Jointly developed by trusted leaders in the industry, the reputations of City Developments Limited and IOI Properties Group Berhad are important factors behind the mixed-use development’s success. It consists of four conserved military buildings and two tours, comprising a total of 510,000 square feet of Grade A office space, 190 luxury residences, the 634-room JW Marriott Singapore South Beach, and an array of dining and lifestyle establishments. The development is known for its unique eco-friendly features, such as a state-of-the-art microclimatic canopy that is engineered to harvest rainwater and is fitted with photovoltaic cells to convert solar energy into electricity.
With this prestigious win, South Beach will take on other five-star winners in other regions including Africa, Europe and the Americas, with the international winner being awarded as the ‘World Best’.
