On 14 September, CDL Group General Manager Mr Chia Ngiang Hong led 51 volunteers from City Sunshine Club (CSC) to bring joy and warmth to the patients of Assisi Hospice’s Home Care and Day Care Centre during the Mid-Autumn season.

CSC volunteers decorated the hall with paper lanterns and colourful streamers, imbuing it with the festive mood. After setting up the event hall, CSC volunteers were hands-on guiding patients step by step to make their very own snowskin mooncakes.

Colourful LED kites wowed the patients as they brightened the evening skies.

Besides distributing mooncakes and lanterns, a series of performances was also lined up that evening to entertain the patients and their families, that included familiar tunes in various languages and dialects belted out by some of the talented CSC volunteers, with the singing performance ending off with a singalong to “To God be the glory”.

Towards the end of the celebration, CSC volunteers accompanied patients for a stroll around the courtyard and were wowed by the unique radio-controlled kite flying performance where colourful LED lights were added to “string-less” kites.

Every year since 2008, CSC has been celebrating the Mid-Autumn festival with Assisi Hospice’s day-care and in-ward patients.
