The Lakefront Anchorage’s 6th annual Beer and Bacon Festival was once again an astounding success!

Over 20 of Alaska’s best craft breweries and 20 of Anchorage’s top chefs showcased their best brews and bacon bites to 1,000 attendees. It was the first time the Festival was sold out. Exciting activities at the event also included a public voting segment for “Best Brew” and “Best Bacon Dish”, and a bacon eating contest where 10 Anchorage residents competed to consume 50 pieces of bacon in the fastest time and be crowned the Bacon King or Queen of Anchorage.

Mr Mitch Wilson (in blue shirt) was crowned the new Bacon King of Anchorage after chowing down 50 pieces of bacon in the fastest time.

Mr Dante Graham has been a loyal supporter of the event since its inception in 2013 and has attended the Festival every year.

A total of US$15,750 was raised and donated to the American Cancer Society’s Patient Lodging Crisis Fund. The Fund provides accommodation for patients and their families as they undergo cancer treatment in Alaska. The Fund was initiated in 2017 to help ease the financial burden of high accommodation costs for patients who fly in from rural areas to receive treatment.

It was a huge success for the Lakefront Anchorage team, who surpassed their goal of raising US$10,000 from this year’s event, even doubling the previous year’s donation!
