In a remarkable moment at the Millennium Hilton One UN Plaza in New York during the 80th United Nations General Assembly, President Prabowo Subianto presented Bill Gates with the Order of Distinguished Stars. The award recognises Gates’ exceptional support to Indonesia, particularly in advancing health initiatives.

President Prabowo highlighted Gates’ dedication to research, improving access to the best seeds, medicines, and vaccines, and overall efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s healthcare sector.

The hotel is proud to have hosted this prestigious event, serving as a backdrop for a historic recognition of global humanitarian achievement. It was an honour for the hotel to witness such a meaningful moment and to provide a space where leaders, innovators, and changemakers could come together. The hotel’s commitment to excellence ensured that every detail reflected the significance of the occasion, making it a truly memorable experience for all attendees.

Beyond health, Indonesia continues to collaborate with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on humanitarian projects that aim to help the most vulnerable, tackle poverty and hunger, and champion education. As the President put it, “Education is the key to our future.”

This recognition not only celebrates Gates’ extraordinary contributions but also reminds us how global partnerships can create lasting impact on lives, communities, and the nation’s future.
