In October, the port city of Gizan in Saudi Arabia has welcomed a new tourism destination with the opening of Grand Millennium Gizan, now the largest hotel in the city. It has 276 rooms, a 1,140 square metre (sqm) ballroom with capacity of 600 guests, and six meeting rooms totalling 400 sqm, each equipped with state-of-the-art modern technology.

The hotel also houses a variety of dining options – Turquoise Restaurant with all-day dining and views overlooking the Red Sea; Al Manzar Café for coffee and cakes; and Alsafina Restaurant for sailing through the culinary world of seafood.

Guests can also enjoy amenities such as the fitness club, spa, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and Executive Lounge, while a business centre is also open for business travellers.

Designed for a royal stay, the Royal Suite features a contemporary Arabic design style in its spacious 252 square metre space, offering sweeping views of the Red Sea or spectacular fountain and pool views.

Guests staying in the suites and Executive Rooms will also have access to the Executive Lounge. Pictured is the Executive Room.

The hotel is located along the Red Sea and Dana Bay within the Gizan University Complex, just a 20-minute drive from the Gizan International Airport. The hotel is also just ten minutes away from the shopping district in the city.

Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East and Africa Chief Operating Officer Mr Hamid Sidine said, “We are thrilled to open this new hotel in Gizan in line with Saudi Vision 2030. We at Millennium Hotels and Resorts MEA are always keen on our expansion plans in the region and we trust that we are filling a market gap with Grand Millennium Gizan.”

Saudi Vision 2030 is the government’s framework to diversify its economy, developing other sectors including recreation and tourism.

Among the dining options at the hotel is seafood joint Alsafina Restaurant. In addition to offering culinary seafood journey across the ocean, it also offers diners breathtaking views of the Red Sea.

The hotel also offers plenty of meetings and events space, with the Coral Grand Hall being able to accommodate 600 guests for all special occasions.

“We look forward to welcoming our esteemed guests in our new hotel right in the heart of this new fascinating area. And with the offerings we have, we are confident that we will be the hotel of choice for family and business travellers alike,” said Grand Millennium Gizan General Manager Mr Jalal Nasser.

The hotel was inaugurated by Deputy Governor of Gizan Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in attendance of Minister of Education Dr Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, President of Gizan University Dr Marie bin Hussein Al-Qahtani and Deputy Emirate of Gizan Region Dr Abdullah Al-Sager and other officials.
