China recently celebrated its 70th national day with a series of ceremonial events, which included the largest military parade and mass pageant in Chinese history. Taking place on October 1, it marks the establishment of the People’s Republic of China.
Millennium Fuqing
Millennium Fuqing was all decked out for the occasion, with national flags and other decorations put up. Guests also got to watch the military parade held at Tian’anmen Square in Bejing. After that, staff also put up a ‘flash mob’ eight-minute song performance, with some guests even joining in!
Millennium Harbourview Xiamen
A competition was held among staff of Millennium Harbourview Xiamen, where each department put up performances of ‘red culture’ songs that instil patriotism. Among the professional judging panel were a music teacher from Xiamen City College and Chorus Chairman from Xiamen Broadcasting & Television Centre, together with key executives from the Hotel Management Team.
The Food and Beverage department took home first prize for their rendition of the song “My New Hotel” while Housekeeping emerged second, and the Front Office and Accounting teams tied for third place.
