After a four-month closure for a complete makeover and menu reinvention, Man Ho Chinese Restaurant at JW Marriott Hong Kong opened its doors on 14 October as part of the hotel’s 30th anniversary celebration. Friends, family and guests joined hotel management staff in celebrating the joyous occasion. The re-opening was marked with a traditional roast pig cutting ceremony as a gesture of blessing.

“We are thrilled to announce the reopening of Man Ho Chinese Restaurant,” said Mr Silvio Rosenberger, General Manager of JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong. “The restaurant has undergone a major refurbishment of design and menu, while continuing to offer an authentic Cantonese culinary journey through crafted dishes to all our discerning hotel guests.”

Modelled upon a classic Chinese garden, Man Ho Chinese Restaurant draws inspiration from traditional Chinese architecture and blends modern aesthetic values to exude timeless elegance. The balanced use of natural elements such as marble, wood and metal as well as water and flower motifs, creates a perfect harmony in this garden of splendour. The signature water fountain with lotus sculptures by the entrance, together with the classy wooden moon gate, offers a sense of tranquillity with an auspicious blessing in Chinese culture. The interior features two handmade Chinese cloisonné enamel walls artfully depicting spring and autumn with seasonal flowers, as well as the bespoke marble moon gate screens with decorative plants, serving as an iconic backdrop showcasing detailed craftsmanship. Made of 6,638 morning glory glasses tinted in champagne gold, the stunning artisanal chandeliers take centre stage and transform the restaurant into a garden of blossoms. The exquisitely carved wooden panels finished with hand-painted flower motifs as well as the delicate carpet rendered in muted blues and frosted greys symbolising a water-lily pond provide distinctive elements to uplift the overall ambience.
