CDL Among
Asia’s Best
Companies
To Work For

CDL has been named one of the ‘Best Companies to Work For in Asia’ in the recent HR Asia Awards 2019. The Awards recognise companies that possess high levels of employee engagement and good workplace culture from various industry groups in Asia.

The Awards are based on an independent survey done by participating companies and benchmarked against the industry’s best practices. This year, 8,231 employees from nearly 200 companies in Singapore took part.

CDL regularly organises activities to engage employees, such as ‘Lunch & Mingle’ sessions for staff to bond over meals and team games (left), and Team Synergy sessions where staff engage in fun, teambuilding and creativity challenges (right).

According to the survey results, CDL fared particularly well in areas such as Team Dynamics, Workplace Sentiment & Behaviour, as well as Advocacy. Of notable mention is CDL’s focus on caring for the larger community; employees are encouraged to participate in community outreach programmes to gain a balance between work and life. Through time, a strong culture of volunteerism and giving back to the community has been instilled, focusing on four community involvement areas – conserving and raising awareness for the environment, enhancing youth development, caring for the less fortunate, and promoting the arts.

CDL Group Chief Strategy Officer Mr Kwek Eik Sheng said, “An engaged and inspired workforce is key to delivering business performance. Supported by a comprehensive people engagement and talent development framework, we build a positive workplace culture that emphasises collaboration, inclusivity and innovation. This award recognition spurs us on to push out even more creative ways to energise the CDL family to work (and play!) together as a team.”
