In support of World Mental Health Day on October 10 by World Health Organisation, Millennium Hotels and Resorts UK organised staff training sessions at its hotels to help raise awareness of mental health issues and first aid.

Through the sessions, staff were equipped with greater understanding of mental disorders and psychiatric illnesses and recognising risks and emergencies with a focus on areas including stress-related problems, major depression, bipolar disorders and anxiety-related disorders. They also gained a clearer understanding of the disorders, as well as an improved ability to interact appropriately.

The Millennium Hotels corporate office earlier conducted a training course for the Human Resources team during Mental Health Awareness Week, which takes place in May in the UK. The team then led the sessions at their own hotels, which were customised for their various needs for the different properties.

The Millennium Hotels corporate office also conducted a training course for Human Resources staff across the hotels earlier in the year: (L-R) Millennium Knightsbridge HR Administrator Ms Sharon Nicholls; Chelsea Harbour Hotel HR Manager Ms Magda Wozniak; Copthorne Tara HR Administrator Alessia Maura; Chelsea Harbour Hotel Head Concierge Mr Nic Lander; HR Manager, UK, Mr Gareth Blake; Cluster HR Manager (Manchester and Liverpool) Ms Julita Mankowska; Millennium Knightsbridge Head Housekeeper Ms Anabela Rodrigues; Copthorne Tara HR Manager Mr David Birkby; Cluster HR Manager (Birmingham and Merry Hill) Ms Charlotte Jones; Cluster HR Manager (Cardiff and Plymouth) Ms Rebecca Thomas.
