To raise awareness for breast cancer, Millennium Airport Dubai invited diners to join its ‘Think Pink, Wear Pink’ campaign on 18 October. Ladies dressed in pink were entitled to enjoy a 50% discount off their bill when they dined at the hotel’s restaurants Loumi, Biggles and Cactus Jacks.

General Manager Mr Simon Moore said, “We want to encourage all our guests to participate in this cause by increasing the understanding about how the early detection of the disease can increase survival rates and save lives.”

Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in females in the United Arab Emirates, although the disease also has among the highest survival rates from early detection and treatment from regular screenings.

The hotel also recently conducted free medical and dental check-ups for its staff. Organised by the Human Resources department, over 50 colleagues had a free check-up which included bio-physical measurements (height, weight, body mass index), and tests for diabetes and cholesterol, and dental consultation. In addition, staff also had a talk by doctors who shared health and fitness tips.

Mr Moore added, “The health and well-being of our colleagues is our greatest priority. We are committed to conduct more such initiatives that are aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle while raising awareness about some common illness. Prevention is better than cure and early detection of an illness can lower the risk of complications.”
