COPTHORNE Tara’s first open day for recruitment was a success as the hotel signed 12 new hires who have started and have received positive feedback from their department heads and colleagues.
In addition to advertising about the open day in the London Underground, the hotel also reached out to various organisations. These include the UK’s Department of Work and Pensions, deafPLUS, a non-profit that aims to empower the hearing impaired, and Women Returners, an association that aims to help professionals get back into employment after having taken extended breaks for various reasons.
To make the open day less daunting, hotel staff were dressed in superhero t-shirts instead of corporate wear to help keep the atmosphere more fun and less serious. There were representatives from various departments and levels of the business so participants could speak directly to staff in relevant departments they were interested in.
The team is glad to have had the opportunity to let more people learn about the hospitality business and the success in signing 12 new hires who have already started work at the hotel in various departments.
