In line with its longstanding commitment to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) reporting and disclosure, City Developments Limited (CDL) has launched its Integrated Sustainability Report (ISR) 2020 and its revamped sustainability website.
Themed ‘Changing the Climate. Changing the Future.’, the annual digital sustainability report communicates CDL’s ESG performance and progress towards its ESG goals and targets set under the CDL Future Value 2030 Sustainability Blueprint.
The report also highlights CDL’s strategy that is anchored on four pillars – integration, innovation, investment and impact, as well as its concrete actions in accelerating green building, sustainability and advocacy efforts.
In the year under review, CDL achieved a 38% reduction in carbon emissions intensity from base-year 2007, meeting its interim 2019 target and is firmly on track to achieve its target of a 59% reduction by 2030. In addition, from 2012 to 2019, CDL achieved more than S$28 million in savings due to energy-efficient initiatives and retrofitting works at eight of its commercial buildings.
This is in addition to prominent international benchmarks recognising CDL’s track record in effective ESG integration and performance, such as being the only company in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong to score double ‘A’s in the 2019 CDP Global A List for corporate climate action and water security.
To reflect CDL’s efforts in raising the bar for ESG communication, the CDL Sustainability website has been revised for a cleaner, more modern look. It also launched its own LinkedIn page, and refreshed the Quarterly Sustainability Report with a brand-new design and editorial focus.
As CDL embarks on the next decade towards achieving the 2030 global goals, the company will remain steadfast in keeping up with the changing times and committing to changing the climate to change the future.
