The Biltmore
Los Angeles
Welcomes
LAPD Officers
The Biltmore Los Angeles has been named as a quarantine site for Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers who have possible exposure and/or are having symptoms related to the coronavirus.
The officers are housed on at least two floors of the hotel, and rooms are paid for by the Los Angeles Police Foundation, a non-profit independent group that buys police equipment and offers other support to the LAPD. The hotel is used by officers who test positive, are starting to experience flu-like symptoms, awaiting test results, or otherwise must go into isolation based on possible exposure.

According to LAPD spokesman Mr Josh Rubenstein, the hotel was selected for its central location and prior relationship it has with the police department. Being frontliners and first responders, the officers face dangers in going to work everyday to keep the city safe and heathy, and the hotel accommodations are meant to take away the added burden of officers possibly bringing the virus home after work.

A Mother’s Day thank you to housekeepers (L-R) Ms Angelica Martinez, Ms Lympha Salvador and Ms Mirna Arevalo, who have been working hard to ensure that the hotel is clean and sanitised.
The Biltmore Los Angeles also celebrated Mother’s Day with the LAPD and first responders staying at the hotel, as well as staff, with fresh flowers to brighten their day.
As at 10 May 2020, LAPD had 108 employees test positive for the coronavirus, with 45 recovered and back at work. One employee is currently hospitalised and the rest are self-isolating and recovering.
