Copthorne Aberdeen has partnered Aberdeen Grammar School, a local state-run secondary school for students aged 11 to 18, to provide vocational learning, work experience opportunities, apprenticeships, and work inspiration activities.

Nearly 200 students attended a pathway event held at the hotel, aimed at giving the students a chance to understand more about the local workforce and over 50 industries. The hotel had the opportunity to present about the hospitality industry to interested students, which led to the partnership with the school.

In the coming year, the hotel will be organising various activities and events for students, such as departmental workshops in the food and beverage departments, shadowing an executive for a day, as well we work placements and mentorship programmes.

General Manager Mr Jamie Snowdon said, “I am really delighted with this partnership as I have no doubt it will have a significant impact in not only developing the local school leavers to have a better understanding of the hospitality industry but will additionally greatly benefit the hotel team.”
