Orchard Hotel's Masterchef Lap Fai presents creations at the opening reception.

Grissini at Grand Copthorne Waterfront (GCW) was one of the hosting establishments and partner restaurants for World Gourmet Summit (WGS), one of Asia's most highly anticipated food and wine festival.

Taking diners on a gastronomic journey, the restaurant featured a special WGS Celebratory Menu that was exquisitely curated by Head Chef Antonio Cocozza, as well as a specially-crafted menu by visiting Ukranian Masterchef Yaroslav Artyukh. The dining experience was topped off by adventurous concoctions by Tempo Bar's Ukranian bartender Valentyn Markushev.

Chef Antonio's five-course WGS Celebratory Menu pampered diners' palates with dishes such as Slow Braised Veal Shank with Saffron Risotto, Gremolata & Basil Oil and Amalfi Coast’s Lemon Liqueur with Layers of Savoiardi, Mascarpone & Zabaione Cream. Ukranian Masterchef Yaroslav Artyukh presented guests with traditional Ukranian dishes with a modern twist, such as Rabbit and Nuts Stuffed Dumplings with Mushroom Sauce and Baked Apple Mousse with Sunflower Halva and Sorrel Snow. He heads the restaurant Kanapa in Kyiv, and represented Ukraine in the regional stage of S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2018, a global talent search for top young chefs.

To unwind, Ukranian bartender Valentyn Markushev at Tempo crafted cocktails that incorporated traditional Ukranian spirits with local flavours, such as Borsch Cooler, which is inspired by traditional borsch soup.

WGS also held its annual Gala Dinner in support of the National Kidney Foundation, to raise funds for needy kidney patients. Grand Copthorne Waterfront Master Chef Qi Zhi Hai, who specialises in Huaiyang cuisine, presented two dishes for the charity dinner. A total of $929,326 was raised for NKF at the dinner.

Orchard Hotel's Masterchef Lap Fai also participated in WGS' opening reception, showcasing his unique creations such as the well-loved Smoked Duck Roll with 10-year Pu-Erh, that stood out and impressed discerning taste buds of gourmands at WGS opening reception.

WGS is in its 22nd year. Themed “The Discovery WGS”, it aims to take diners off the beaten track to experience some of the world's exciting, lesser-known cuisines, presented by a stellar line-up of culinary stars, representing countries from Asia, Eastern and Central Europe, and America.
