The hotel’s main lobby came alive with a vibrant lion dance performance, as energetic lions weaved through the space, accompanied by the rhythmic beat of drums and cymbals, symbolising strength, prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead.

Adding to the celebratory spirit, Sagano’s culinary team hosted a traditional Japanese mochi-pounding ceremony, allowing guests to witness the centuries-old custom of creating sticky rice cakes, which signify abundance and auspicious beginnings. Guests were invited to participate, capturing photos and enjoying the lively atmosphere as the mochi was skillfully prepared.

Energetic and colourful lions weaved through the lobby, ushering in a year filled with good fortune and abundance.

Dato’ KC Gan participated in the mochi-pounding ceremony, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd.
