Millennium & Copthorne Hotels has appointed Mr Andre Scholl as Senior Vice President of Operations, Southeast Asia.

Bringing with him a wealth of industry experience, Andre has worked in several countries in Asia, including Singapore, and has held various senior management positions with international hospitality chains including Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Mandarin Oriental, Marco Polo Hotels, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, and Regent Hotels & Resorts. Andre was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Hotels & Resorts, where he helped to create and implement several talent management initiatives, and was involved with special projects as part of the Group’s expansion strategy.

Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East and Africa (MHR MEA) has appointed Mr Hamid Sidine as the Managing Director for Saudi Arabia and Chief Operating Officer for Turkey and Africa.

With broad-ranging expertise across three continents and three decades of regional and international experience, Hamid will head up the Group’s Riyadh office in the Saudi Arabian capital. He is responsible for achieving its recently announced goal of operating 25 hotels countrywide by 2025, and will also drive forward the Group’s growth strategy in Turkey and Africa.

The multi-lingual Moroccan national has worked with global hospitality brands including Sofitel Hotels and Resorts, Pullman Hotels and Resorts and Novotel Hotels in the Middle East, Africa and Europe, and takes on this newly created role with the Group.

MHR MEA has also appointed Mr Sammy Boukhaled as Vice President of Operations for the United Arab Emirates. He was formerly Vice President of Operations for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was instrumental in implementing the Group’s expansion strategy in the country. In his new role, he will oversee all operational aspects of the MHR brand in the UAE where several properties are set to open this year.

Known for his revenue-oriented approach, Sammy has over 30 years of experience in the industry, having held several leadership roles with hotel companies such as AccorHotels and its international brands.

M Social Singapore has a new General Manager at the helm, Mr Othmane Amrani.

Othmane has over a decade of experience in the hotel industry and has held various positions in Operations, Revenue and Finance. Since obtaining his master’s degree in Hospitality Management at Institut Vatel in France, he has joined the industry, and was previously a part of GCP Hospitality (Gaw Capital Group), where he was responsible for the pre-opening and management of Hotel G in Beijing, Hong Kong and Yangon. He was most recently General Manager of Hotel G Singapore.
