In aid of Chelsea Community Hospital School, staff from Copthorne Tara came together for a cake bake contest, adding a competitive twist to a traditional bake sale.
Nine staff from the Copthorne Tara and the Millennium Hotels and Resorts corporate office in London took part, putting their baking skills to the test for a good cause. The important task of judging fell onto Copthorne Tara Executive Head Chef Mr Nilesh Patole, and Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Financial Controller Mr Rajesh Sharma.
Ms Valentina Ivanova, Cleaner for the Back of House area, took home the top title, with her perfectly layered cake extravaganza decorated with seasonal fruits. Human Resources Officer Ms Nadia Lockett and Personal Assistant to the General Manager Ms Danila Junglee came in second and third place respectively with their baked creations – a scrumptious raspberry cake decorated with flowers, and a peach cream cake.
Following the judging, all cakes were put up for sale at £1 a slice, with all funds raised going to the Chelsea Community Hospital School. The cakes raised over £100 for the charity which helps to provide education for children and young people aged four to 18 while they are in hospital.
