Charity Luncheon
For Breast Cancer
On 7 February 2020, the team at Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool hosted a fundraising lunch in support of R Charity, to buy new hospital gowns for the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals’ breast cancer units.
The charity luncheon was organised by the hotel’s Staff Consultative Committee, a member of whom went through a difficult time herself last year.
The Hard Days Night team (L-R) Marketing Consultant Ms Gaynor Black; Food and Beverage Assistant Ms Debbie Williams; and Sales Manager Ms Janet Morris, with R Charity Fundraising Development Manager Ms Aimee Clare.
Food and Beverage Assistant Ms Debbie Williams had gone through the traumatic event, and came up with the idea, knowing how much of a positive impact and comfort having a good quality gown can have on a patient. With the support of Groups, Conference and Event Sales Executive Ms Helen Groves and Storeman Mr Dave Lucock, she organised the fundraising lunch. Items that the trio secured for the auction included a signed Liverpool FC football, tasting and tour at the Liverpool Gin Distillery, afternoon tea for four with prosecco at Hard Days Night Hotel, and autographed football jersey by Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The auction was emceed by The Cavern Club Director and Artist Mr Jon Keats, while Mr Jonny Parry, a top artist from The Cavern Club, entertained guests throughout the day.
The items up for auction, such as a signed Liverpool FC ball and player jersey.
Guests at the sell-out event, which raised over £4,000 for R Charity.
The lunch proved to be a huge success, raising a total of nearly £4,500 for the good cause!
