It’s been an exciting few months for Hong Leong Group Sports & Recreation Club (HLGSRC) members, as the Club planned fun-filled food and fitness events for staff.
Over 40 staff got to put their creative streak into beverages with latte art classes. Latte art is preparing coffee by pouring microfoam over a shot of espresso, resulting in a pattern, most commonly the fern pattern, on the surface. During the two-and-a-half-hour session, staff put on their barista aprons and learnt the various steps to creating latte art, such as techniques for frothing milk that creates the microfoam.

Tower Club Singapore also held a special culinary session for 50 participants. Led by Atlantic Kitchen’s Executive Chef Elson Cheong, participants learnt how to make a delicious two-course meal – Squid Ink Pasta with King Prawns and Lobster Sauce and Chilled Mango Sago with Mango Ice-Cream and Mango Pearl in Young Coconut. After the teaching session, attendees also got to tuck into a scrumptious buffet lunch at Tower Club’s Straits Bar.
Participants stretching and working on their strength and flexibility with chair yoga (left) and floor yoga (right).
On the fitness side, over 21 staff took part in a chair yoga session held at Hong Leong Building. Chair yoga is practiced while sitting on a chair or using a chair for support, which makes it a great alternative for those who are unable to do regular yoga practices, or are new to the activity. Participants worked on increasing their strength and flexibility and improving their well-being through hip stretches, forward bends, mild backbends and body twists with the support of a chair. At the same time, HLGSRC also organised a series of regular floor yoga.
Over 20 participants took part in HLGSRC’s Sports Challenge for golf, held at Sembawang Country Club.
The winning team (L-R): CBM’s Vice President, Admin and QMS Manager Mr Goh Chin Siang; Hong Leong Corporation Holdings’ Mr Jonathan Lim; and CDL Chief Revenue Officer Mr Mark Yip, who was team captain.
