Embracing the spirit of the ‘Year of Zayed’ during the holy month of Ramadan, Grand Millennium Al Wahda has distributed Iftar meal packages to taxi drivers in the heart of Abu Dhabi city.

This is the second year that the hotel has embarked on this initiative. Its goal is to acknowledge and thank the workers for their tireless work, focusing on various locations around the hotel. Over 100 meal boxes were distributed to taxi drivers.

Grand Millennium Al Wahda General Manager Mr Enad Tannous said, “Ramadan is a time of giving and sharing. We are committed to continue in the spirit of the ‘Year of Zayed’ and we felt it was extremely important to the Grand Millennium Al Wahda family to acknowledge and thank the taxi drivers for their continuous efforts.”

Staff from Grand Millennium Al Wahda volunteered to take time to thank workers and celebrate the ‘Year of Zayed’ during Ramadan. Pictured on the right is Engineering – Facilities Manager Mr Rafael Sonio giving an iftar meal box to a taxi driver.

“I am very proud of my entire team for rallying together to create these iftar meal boxes. Each meal box was packed with dates, Arabic bread, chicken mandi, laban, apple, banana, water and juices for them to enjoy while breaking their fast,” he added.

Ramadan is observed by Muslims globally as a month of fasting, where they abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to sunset. The fast-breaking meals at sunset are known as iftar.
