Taking students from classroom to coastline for a cleaner future
M Social Penang recently welcomed students from the School of The Arts (SOTA) faculty at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for a field visit focused on sustainability and experiential hospitality.
The programme included a beach clean-up CSR activity by Team M Social and the students, promoting environmental awareness and coastal conservation. Students also attended a hotel briefing and a sharing session on the resort’s creative direction and design concept, gaining insights into the hospitality industry.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experience while reinforcing the importance of sustainability.
Reinforcing safe and healthy workplace practices
CDL and M Social Resort Penang recently conducted a safety walk (or ‘Gemba Walk’) to reinforce workplace safety and health practices.
The walk covered key operational areas and provided an opportunity to engage employees on proactive risk management, fire prevention and heat stress awareness. The session also reinforced CDL's safety culture, which empowers every employee to speak up and stop work when conditions are unsafe.
The engagement concluded with a gathering involving hotel management and staff, reflecting the strong teamwork and positive safety culture at the resort. CDL extends its appreciation to General Manager Jasmine Keh and the M Social Resort Penang team for their active participation and support.
