New Properties

Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) has expanded its reach in Greater China with the opening of three new properties over the past two months.

Millennium Gaea Resort Hualien is MHR’s second property in Taiwan, nestled among the foothills of the Central Mountain Range (中央山脉) in Hualien County, about 170km away from the bustling city of Taiwan's capital city Taipei. The resort, which is jointly operated with Yinsherb Group (君达集团), a Taiwanese organic herb company, embraces the local flora and fauna, providing a green space for guests to immerse themselves in nature.

The resort is located 50km away from the popular Taroko National Park (太鲁阁国家公园) in Hualien, which offers scenic sights such as the Swallow Grotto Trail (燕子口) and Eternal Spring Shrine (长春祠), and just 600m away from from the Gancheng Green Corridor (干城绿色廊道). It also houses the first “farm-to-table” restaurant in Hualien, offering a wide selection of signature dishes featuring ingredients from the local farming community.

Set in China’s fourth UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, Millennium Resort Wuyishan is set to become a landmark in the city of Wuyishan in Fujian province. The city is about 480km away from Xiamen, the province's largest city, and about 285km away from Fuzhou, the province's capital. The 216-key resort marks the second collaboration between MHR and Fujian Xiangxin Group after Millennium Fuqing in the same province, located 310km away.

The hotel is a mere 20-minute drive away from Wuyishan Airport, 10-minute drive from Wuyishan Scenery Golf Club, and less than a 10-minute drive from Wuyi Mountain.

MHR’s Vice President of Operations, Greater China, Mr Bernard Chong said, “I would like to thank Fujian Xiangxin Group for your long-term trust and support. We are confident to make Millennium Resort Wuyishan the leading resort here. We are also honoured to support the government here to develop and promote Wuyishan as one of the perfect destinations for both domestic and overseas visitors.”
