Copthorne Tara has been awarded the President’s Prize by the Kensington and Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, for their efforts in staying committed to the local community and striving to attract local talent to work in the hospitality industry.
The President’s Prize is the top prize of the Kensington & Chelsea Business Awards which recognises the business community for their efforts and contributions to the Kensington and Chelsea borough. Mr Michael Stone, Chairman of the Kensington and Chelsea Chamber of Chelsea, presented the award to the hotel earlier this year.
The hotel is proud of its culture of being a deep-rooted part of the community and acting as ambassadors of change, and the chamber commended the hotel for its close partnerships with local charities such as Grenfell United, Solidarity Sports, and The Chelsea Community Hospital over the years.
At the end of last year, the hotel lent its support to Grenfell United, a group of survivors and bereaved families of the devastating Grenfell Tower fire, organising activities for the children survivors, and has even housing some of the families displaced by the disaster. It also sponsored a special Christmas carol service during the festive season to raise funds for Solidarity Sports, a charity that works with disadvantaged children through sports and athletics.
The Kensington and Chelsea Chamber of Commerce is an independent business network for member companies in the Kensington and Chelsea borough, aimed at sustaining a successful local business community.
