On 17 June, Team Hard Days Night donned wet suits and helmets and took to the water at the Royal Albert Dock, challenging eight other hotel teams to an inflatable adventure course on the River Mersey, all in the name of charity.

The adventure challenge was initiated by board members of Hospitality Action North, which included Hard Days Night Hotel General Manager Mr Stephen Rycroft, and was supported and coordinated with the assistance of the Liverpool Hospitality Association.

The nine hotels raced against each other, slipping and sliding while trying to keep their balance through the 92-metre inflatable course that was made up of over 50 obstacle elements such as slides, stairs and a tunnel to crawl through. At the end of the fun competition, Team Hard Days Night emerged top.

Participants all had a great time, and over £3,000 was raised, with more donations still coming in.

The event was such a success that it will continue to become a key fundraiser event for hospitality industry players in Liverpool, and run annually – the hotel team has already committed to their participation next year and started training!

Hospitality Action is a charity that aims to provide assistance to those who are currently working or have worked in the UK hospitality industry.

The Hard Days Night team all geared up and ready to go: (L-R) Finance Supervisor Mr Phil Griffiths; Conference and Events Executive Ms Lauren Sergeant; Regional – Cluster HR Development Manager Ms Julita Mankowska; Junior Sous Chef Mr Jordan Edwards; Cellar Man Mr David Lucock; and Food and Beverage Controller Mr Kevin O’Neil.
