Hong Leong Group was named the winner of the EY Family Business Award of Excellence at the prestigious annual EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020 Singapore awards. The awards ceremony was held virtually due to COVID-19, and the EY Family Business Award of Excellence was presented to Executive Chairman Mr Kwek Leng Beng at a private luncheon after the event.

The award celebrates Hong Leong Group’s ability to harmonise business and family matters, enabling the execution of business and living out family values. It also recognised the Group’s successful, sustainable and long-term oriented strategy, effective and transparent corporate governance approach, as well as its significant socio-economic contributions.

Hong Leong Group was founded in 1941 by the late Mr Kwek Hong Png, and was built on a foundation of hard work, determination and service to the community. The Group is currently helmed by the eldest son in the second generation of Kweks, Executive Chairman Mr Kwek Leng Beng.

The Group has thrived, despite numerous economic cycles and challenges, and celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2021.
