Studio M brought an early festive treat to children ahead of the Christmas season. Over 30 children and youths aged seven to 11, and 15 to 17 from Women's Integration Network Council (WinCouncil) and Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) received an early Christmas gift and got the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a hotelier for a day.
The precious little ones mingled with Santarina and learnt about the various roles within the hotel industry through a fairytale themed introductory display, where the different roles were described with various fairytale characters. For example, the Food & Beverage team was depicted as the chefs from Ratatouille, while Human Resources were characters from Peter Pan. The children also participated in an exciting bauble-making and coffee-making workshop led by Studio M staff.
General Manager Mr Pjey Mayandi said, “We hope these sessions would help empower and motivate these children to aspire to be professional hoteliers when they grow up.”
WinCouncil, a grassroots organisation in Singapore, aims to inspire women towards community leadership and contribution. It is a part of People’s Association, a statutory board to promote social cohesion. CDAC is a non-profit self-help group that offers programmes and provides assistance to the less privileged in the Chinese community.
