Our Hong Leong Group properties are wrapping up the year with a bang, with big wins at the recent EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards and PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore).

At the 2021 EdgeProp Singapore Excellence Awards, Hong Leong companies City Developments Limited (CDL), Hong Leong Holdings (HLH), TID Pte Ltd (TID) and Hong Realty were lauded for their winning project developments, sweeping multiple wins. Taking the cherry on the cake, CDL was also crowned “Top Developer” for the fifth consecutive year and is the only developer to receive this award annually since the inaugural awards in 2017.

This year also marks a big win for our subsidiary and joint venture partner TID. At the 11th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore), TID won two awards for its project One-North Eden. This is the first time TID has won accolades at both property awards.

Setting the benchmark for Singapore’s real estate industry at the EdgeProp Excellence Awards

Representing CDL at the EdgeProp gala luncheon, CDL Group General Manager Mr Chia Ngiang Hong emphasised that creating iconic landmarks that inspire the best in innovative and sustainable design is at the heart of CDL’s business philosophy.

Mr Chia said, “Irwell Hill Residences, our Top Development award winner, reflects this vision. Conceptualised during the circuit breaker period last year, its design was inspired by a renewed focus on wellness and health. The project places much emphasis on nature, flexible spaces and smart home features to cater to evolving lifestyles and changing needs."

Other than Top Developer, CDL also bagged six other awards at the ceremony for its properties Irwell Hill Residences, The Tapestry and Forest Woods. Launched this year, Irwell Hill Residences was named Top Development (Uncompleted, Central). Boasting a sizeable site and lush landscaped spaces, the property is located in prime District 9 and has 540 units across two towers. It saw over half of its total units snapped up over its launch weekend in April this year. Apart from being a hit with buyers, Irwell Hill Residences also struck the right chord with industry experts with its optimisation of space.

Forest Woods in Lorong Lew Lian in Serangoon also impressed the judges with its design inspired by the flora and fauna that once surrounded the old Serangoon area. Jointly developed by CDL, HLH and TID, Forest Woods was also one of the top-selling projects when it was launched in 2016. Recreating the experience of living within a sanctuary surrounded by water and greenery, the development also offers flexible layouts through selected units that allow homeowners to customise rooms according to their lifestyles.

CDL’s The Tapestry in Tampines, also came out tops in the competition. Other than clinching Top Development (Completed, Non-Central), it snagged awards for Design Excellence, Landscape Excellence and Sustainability Excellence. It is also the second time the development has been recognised at the awards. With the concept ‘home within a resort’, The Tapestry sets a benchmark for new projects – it was the first premium suburban condominium project launched for sale in 2018 and also emerged among the best-selling new developments for the entire year.

One-North Eden bagged two accolades – Top Development (Uncompleted, Non-Central) and Sustainability Excellence. Located in the one-north business hub, it was the first project of its kind in 14 years, resulting in strong demand: over its launch weekend, about 85% of its residential units were snapped up. The development by TID draws inspiration from Singapore’s Ginger, a native plant discovered in 2014, and boasts a rich diversity of flora and fauna throughout its grounds, which lends a restful tranquillity to the development.

Midtown Modern, the joint venture between GuocoLand, HLH and Hong Realty also took home several titles at the EdgeProp Excellence Awards. Located along Tan Quee Lan Street, the development boasts 1ha of greenery and landscaped areas, with its ‘Garden in the Woods’ urban sanctuary concept. The development is also a part of the upcoming mixed-use Guoco Midtown.

Organised by EdgeProp Singapore, the annual awards honour the leading performers and outstanding developments in the local property community and recognises the relentless commitment from property developers to ensure continuous innovation, best-in-class design and the highest level of integrity.

Real estate excellence honoured at PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards

Among the winners recognised for real estate excellence was TID’s One-North Eden. Launched this year, it was named Best Condo Development and Best Boutique Condo Interior Design (Highly Commended). Speaking at the virtual awards ceremony, TID Managing Director Mr Yoichi Kaga said that the combination of the project’s smart design and careful utilisation of space has made One-North Eden so attractive for buyers.

Midtown Modern was also a winning project, taking home the titles for Best Luxury Condo Development, Best Luxury Condo Architectural Design and Best Luxury Condo Landscape Architectural Design.
