Mr. Bernie Sanders, Senator of Vermont and 2016 US Presidential contender, stayed at the Millennium Biltmore when he was in Los Angeles for a rally to support Proposition 61, a California pharmaceutical drug-pricing initiative.

According to news reports, hundreds turned up to see the former Democratic presidential candidate criticise drug companies and encourage supporters to combat the influence of money in politics. The rally was held at the city’s Pershing Square, one day before the US Election Day on 8 November 2016.

Proposition 61 is a ballot initiative aimed at lowering prescription drug prices for government agencies.
