More than 200 City Developments Limited (CDL) employees gathered at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore on 22 May for the inaugural CDL AI Symposium. Held under the theme “People-Led, AI-Enabled,” the event offered insights from CDL’s leadership and practical guidance on applying AI meaningfully to improve efficiency and day-to-day performance.
CDL's Group Chief Executive Officer Mr Sherman Kwek, Chief Technology Officer Mr Ivan Ng, and Head of Human Resources Mr Alvin Tan opened the event by sharing their perspectives on AI as a strategic enabler for the organisation.
While CDL has already begun integrating AI into its operations, they highlighted the importance of continuing to innovate, adapt and accelerate adoption to unlock greater productivity and value. At the same time, they emphasised that human judgement, creativity, collaboration and decision-making remain essential to achieving meaningful outcomes.
Putting learning into practice, employees explored AI integrated tools such as Microsoft Copilot through guided exercises and real-world workplace applications.
With people continuing to be CDL’s greatest asset, the organisation is committed to strengthening the digital capabilities of its workforce and equipping employees with the skills needed to thrive in an AI-enabled workplace.
Employees also participated in hands-on workshops featuring tools such as Microsoft Copilot. Through guided exercises and real-world use cases, they explored how AI can streamline routine tasks, enhance productivity and free up more time for work requiring insight, creativity and collaboration.
The symposium reinforced CDL’s commitment to building a people-led, AI-enabled organisation, with a workforce that is digitally capable, adaptable and ready for the future of work.
