Pesta Sukan 2026

Staff from across the Hong Leong Group of Companies came together to represent Hong Leong Club in this year’s Pesta Sukan Basketball Competition. Pesta Sukan (“Festival of sports” in Malay) is an annual event held in the lead-up to Singapore’s National Day. It's a celebration of sports that aims to foster camaraderie and raise the standard of sports through friendly competition.

The Basketball Group competed in two categories over 2 months this year – Men’s Corporate 5v5 and Men’s Open 3v3.

Men’s Corporate 5v5: The 5v5 team wrapped up the tournament after two hard-fought matches. Narrowly missing out in their opening game, they fell 47-48 to GIC in a closely contested match. The team then faced a strong Min Yi side, who secured a 75-47 victory. While the results did not go their way, the team remained determined and gave their all until the final whistles, reflecting the commitment and sportsmanship of Hong Leong Club.

Men’s Open 3v3: The 3v3 team embraced the challenge of competing in the 3v3 tournament for the first time, gaining valuable experience across three hard-fought games. Despite not winning, with this first experience under their belts, they look forward to returning stronger in future competitions.

HLC Golf Tournament

HLC’s Golf Tournament brought together 8 teams and a total of 31 golfers for a friendly competition at Forest City Golf Course in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Played under cool, cloudy skies, the pleasant weather provided ideal conditions for an enjoyable day on the course.

After completing the course, participants gathered for a hearty local nasi lemak (Malay for coconut rice) lunch, followed by the prize presentation ceremony. HLC President, Ms Kwek Pei Xuan, expressed her appreciation to Tournament Director, Mr Roy Chiang (President/CEO of CBM Pte Ltd), for his generous support in organising the team allocations and managing the tournament scoring.

Overall, the tournament was a fantastic day of friendly competition and team bonding among staff from the different Hong Leong Group of companies. A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the event such a memorable success!
