Across The UK
Millennium Hotels and Resorts UK (MHR UK) was among a select group of industry leaders, businesses, charities and public-sector organisations invited by The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales to attend the Homewards Year Three anniversary events at Lambeth Palace and London's Tate Modern art gallery.
The invitation recognised MHR UK's contribution to Homewards, Prince William's five-year programme that aims to prevent homelessness through collaboration, early intervention and sustainable employment opportunities.
Joining other partners and supporters of the initiative, the MHR UK team celebrated the programme's progress and impact over the past three years. To date, Homewards has helped more than 2,400 people receive early support, supported over 70 families in securing stable housing, and enabled more than 250 individuals to gain employment.
Creating pathways to prevent homelessness
MHR UK has been working to create meaningful employment pathways for individuals who face barriers to entering the workforce. The company recently partnered with the UK Department for Work and Pensions to complete a pilot programme across selected London hotels, exploring practical ways to support individuals at risk of homelessness.
A key feature of the initiative was Trauma-Informed Practice training for hotel leaders, helping them build more inclusive and supportive workplaces. The programme provided valuable insights into how the hospitality industry can play a role in helping individuals overcome challenges, gain confidence and build sustainable careers.
Building on the success of the pilot, MHR UK will continue collaborating with specialist partners to strengthen its employability initiatives and create more opportunities within the hospitality sector. Through innovative partnerships and a people-centred approach, the company remains committed to empowering individuals, opening doors to meaningful employment, and contributing to stronger, more resilient communities.
