Hong Leong Finance (HLF) has added yet another feather to its cap, taking the title of ‘ASEAN Finance Company of the Year’ by the Asian Banking & Finance Awards 2021 for the eighth year running.
The long-standing track record is a testament to HLF’s success in introducing outstanding products and services that have successfully met customers’ needs and adapted with the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
Two other prestigious recognitions were awarded to Singapore’s largest finance company as well, with HLF ranking among the ‘TOP 1000 World Banks 2021’ and being named ‘Best Performing Bank in Singapore 2021’ by The Banker.
This is the fourth consecutive year HLF has been on the ranking, taking the 665th place this year, with its robust Tier 1 Capital that has grown 4.5% year-on-year to US$1,390 billion as at December 2020. Tier 1 Capital is a tool of measurement used by The Banker to map a bank’s financial strength, profitability and performance via shares and retained earnings.
It also topped the list on Overall Performance among banks in Singapore, outperforming Singapore’s three big local banks in three of the eight sub-categories, namely Asset Quality, Soundness and Leverage.
In its 16th year, the Asian Banking & Finance Awards is organised by the Charlton Media Group, publisher of business media such as Singapore Business Review and Investment Asia. The awards recognises top banks, finance companies and insurance firms that stand out with ground-breaking products and services amidst the challenges the finance sector is facing. The Banker is an economic and financial report by one of the world’s leading global business publication The Financial Times.
