Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) recently took part in the Meetings Show in London, clinching over £700,000 worth of new enquiries over the show's two days.
The MHR booth was expertly managed by Mr Maciej Gurgul, Director of Sales - Europe, and Mr Stuart Orr, Senior Account Director - Global Business Travel, handling a steady stream of over 80 appointments over the two days.
MHR also hosted 150 industry buyers at The Meetings Show's Pre-Show Conference, a new addition that is held exclusively for the event's Hosted Buyers, a premier programme for buyer attendees. The event was organised in partnership with the London Convention Bureau, and opened with a networking lunch, keynote, and three targeted content streams for association, agency, and corporate buyers. The pre-conference event was fully booked and generated nearly £200,000 worth of room and conference revenue, and Millennium Gloucester has already been rebooked for 2019!
The first day of the conference ended with a special networking event also held at Millennium Gloucester, themed “Now That's What I Call Millennium 90's”. A total of 500 attendees were treated to a 90's themed event, presentations, and a lucky draw. M&C clients had a ball dancing to music by a 90's tribute band who performed hits such as Love Is All Around by Wet Wet Wet and Flying Without Wings by Westlife, while enjoying an international buffet spread by Millennium Gloucester chefs, and dining outlet Bugis Street Brasserie, and Olives Restaurant by The Bailey's Hotel.
Thanking all staff involved who helped made the event a huge success, Mr Maciej Gurgul said, “The event has not only created a huge amount of good will and recognition within the industry but created exciting new business global opportunities for the future.”
Launched in 2012, the Meetings Show is the premier event for the inbound and outbound meetings and events industry in the UK, attracting over 700 suppliers and nearly 2,000 industry buyers in its 2018 edition.
