Visiting
Malaysia's
Well-Kept Secret

Over the 30 June and 1 July weekend, over 40 Hong Leong Group Singapore staff and family members embarked on a trip to Selangor, Malaysia.

Meeting early in the morning on Saturday, the group made their way to Tanjung Sepat, a small fishing village located on the Strait of Malacca at the westernmost part of Selangor, bordering the state of Negeri Sembilan. At the village, staff and their family members visited local fruit and vegetable farms and factories, where they got to try local produce such as dragonfruit, mushrooms, cassava chips and fish balls.

The next day, the group headed to Sasaran Beach at Kuala Selangor. The beach is dubbed as Malaysia's version of the famous Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, the world's largest salt flat that is a popular photo spot when nearby lakes overflow and the layer of water transforms the flats into a reflection of the sky. Similarly, the beach in Selangor, also known as Sky Mirror, offers a stunning reflection of the sky. More interestingly, the beach is only accessible to tourists twice a month during the new moon and full moon periods, when the tide is low and the sandbar emerges. During the rest of the month, the beach submerges under the sea.

Though the trip was long, staff and their families were rewarded with the stunning sight, and took many photos to capture the moment.
