Facelift

To position Orchard Hotel for the recovery in the Singapore hotel sector, Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) will embark on a major refurbishment exercise for the hotel. The renovations will involve Orchard Hotel’s 260 deluxe guest rooms, ballroom, lobby area, as well as Orchard Café and Intermezzo Bar located on the ground level.

Orchard Hotel’s renovations is part of M&C’s extensive refurbishment programme that has seen many of its global hotels undergo upgrading works to their premises. M&C has committed significant capital investment over the years to transform and re-position hotels to keep pace with guest expectations.

The hotel’s Hua Ting Chinese Restaurant revealed a new look in December 2017, which featured a revamped space boasting brightly lit interiors and more private rooms, with the largest room being the Chairman’s Room, where a 20-seater-table measuring four metres takes centre stage.

While Orchard Hotel will face some disruption during the renovation stage, the completed refurbishment exercise will improve overall guest experience and enhance the competitiveness of the hotel. In the meantime, efforts are being made to ensure guest comfort and minimise disruption.

To ensure continuity of service, renovations are being done in phases which started with Orchard Café in July and is scheduled for completion in October 2018. In the meantime, operations of the restaurant has moved to the mezzanine level (level 2) at La Terrasse.

Upgrading works to the lobby will start in August while renovations on the ballroom and guestrooms are expected to commence in October, and Intermezzo Bar in November.

Business is as usual at other dining outlets such as Hua Ting Restaurant.

The refurbishment exercise is expected to last till next year.

Orchard Café will dazzle with new furniture in refreshing whites and greens.
