The Lakefront Anchorage is the Foraker winner for the title of Best Hotel for the Corporate Traveller by the 2018 Best of Alaska Business Awards.
The awards are organised by Alaska Business, a business magazine in the state, and honours the top in the business community. There are three winners for every category, named Denali, St. Elias, and Foraker, after the three highest mountain peaks in the United States. Readers of the magazine were invited to vote in an online survey from February to April.
General Manager Mr Greg Beltz said, “We are honoured to receive the Foraker Award, because it’s coming from the votes of the people whom we value the most, our guests. The Fancy Moose and The Deck at Lake Hood have always been a traveller’s favorite and we strive to provide top quality service with a smile. Our goal is to offer a comfortable home away from home, and obviously we are doing something right!”
The Lakefront Anchorage was lauded for its convenient location to the international airport, while providing guests with an Alaskan lodge ambience and service culture. It is the only lakeside hotel in Anchorage, and overlooks Lake Spenard and Lake Hood. The hotel also recently underwent a US$10 million revamp to refresh its guest rooms and building exterior. In addition, the hotel also strives to be an integral part of the Anchorage community with its strong philanthropic culture, through its annual Beer and Bacon Festival for charity fundraising and other volunteering initiatives throughout the year.
