In celebration of International Women’s Day (8 March 2021), Millennium Harbourview Xiamen held a dumpling making contest amongst its female employees on 5 March. Held at the staff cafeteria, the contest added a joyful, festive atmosphere and helped strengthen team spirit among the employees.

Before the competition commenced, the hotel management team shared their sincere thanks to the female staff, for their valuable contributions made to the company and in their community. The dumpling making also conveyed the best wishes to staff, that their work and lives would be joyful and stuffed with happiness like the dumplings!

Some 30 female employees from different departments including Front Office, Housekeeping and Human Resources, participated in the competition. Divided into ten groups, they worked in threes to complete the task. The teams were provided with all the necessary ingredients, and were scored based on time taken, level of teamwork, and the shape, size, and appearance of their dumplings.

The top three teams with the highest scores were named winners, while six employees were also crowned with individual honours as Dumpling Making Queens. The winners took home shopping vouchers worth RMB 100. The event also saw a whopping 1,350 dumplings made in total, which were then cooked and consumed on the spot, as well as served during dinner at the staff canteen that evening.
