Earlier this year, the team at Millennium Airport Dubai took part in the 11th edition of ‘Dubai Cares Walk for Education’, in support of millions of children around the world, who have to walk an average of three kilometres a day in order to go to school. Staff and their families clocked the same three kilometres at the symbolic walk at Dubai Creek Park.
General Manager Mr Simon Moore said that the hotel was proud to extend its support to the cause, with staff walking to demonstrate its solidarity with children in less-developed nations who have to walk long distances to access their basic right to education.
He said, “As part of our corporate social responsibility, our goal is to make a lasting difference in people’s lives regardless of their gender, nationality or race. ‘Dubai Cares Walk for Education’ is a great initiative in that aspect.”
Dubai Cares is a UAE-based global philanthropic organisation aimed to provide access to quality education for children and young people in developing countries, and has launched education programmes reaching over 20 million beneficiaries in 59 developing countries.
