Our hotels in Singapore and New Zealand recently served up a storm and celebrated Italian, Swiss, and Japanese cuisines with exquisitely crafted dishes and specially curated menus.

Grand Copthorne Waterfront

Following the success of the Two Chefs, Four-Hands Dining Experience at Grissini in December, Grissini Head Chef Mirko Vinci once again partnered Swiss Club Singapore Executive Chef Adrian Vogt.

The collaboration saw a special five-course dinner menu, which showcased elements of both Italian and Swiss cuisine at Arbenz Restaurant at Swiss Club, such as Swiss Chard Roll with Wild Mushroom, Smoked Bacon and White Wine Sauce, and Spaghetti with Wild Langoustine (a type of crustacean), Sea Urchin and Chives.

In addition to a delicious buffet spread (left), guests also enjoyed a performance by Keisho Ohno, a Japanese drum and shamisen (a traditional Japanese instrument) duo who flew in from Japan for the festivities (right).

The New Zealand hotel joined in the festivities of Japan Day in Auckland, celebrating Japanese culture with the community in the city. The hotel and Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) came in as a sponsor, giving away dining vouchers to Grand Millennium Auckland’s Japanese restaurant Katsura, accommodation vouchers, and vouchers for AwayToGo.co.nz, Millennium, Copthorne and Kingsgate’s online gifting platform.

Impressed with the generosity of the donated prizes, the Japanese Society of Auckland held their post-Japan Day celebration function at Katsura. The dinner was attended by delegates from the Japanese Consulate of Auckland, Department of Economics and Culture in Japan and representatives from the board of Eden Park, New Zealand’s largest sports stadium and the venue for Japan Day.

In the week leading up to Japan Day, Katsura also offered a special “Japan Day Celebration” set, with a welcome sake shot, the restaurant’s signature chirashi sushi, an option for one of six mains, and dessert. There was also a lucky draw prize, where diners stood a chance to win a Grand Seafood Buffet dinner for two at Katsura.
