Millennium Hotels and Resorts Middle East and Africa (MHR MEA) has launched a talent development programme for colleagues who are nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, namely Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The programme is named TooMooH, which means ‘ambition’ in Arabic. It aims to accelerate nationalisation and be an active contributor to the vision of GCC countries and was established to the rapidly expanding needs of MHR MEA in the region. TooMooH will help integrate country nationals in the private sector and offer increased opportunities in the hospitality industry.
MHR MEA is on track to have 100 hotels across the Middle East by 2020, and the programme reflects MHR’s vision to have an active role in developing GCC nationals in the region’s burgeoning travel industry.
MHR MEA will be rolling out the first tier of TooMooH, the TooMooH Executive Development Programme (TEDP). The 18-month programme is designed for colleagues with managerial potential. Each candidate will have a personal coach and a mentor who will guide the candidates in refining their job knowledge, while also preparing them mentally and emotionally to lead a department.
President and CEO of MHR MEA Mr Ali Hamad Lakhraim Alzaabi said, “I firmly believe that TooMooH is an excellent opportunity to give back to the community where we are present; therefore, through this programme, we are looking forward to contributing to the vision of GCC countries by unlocking the potential of GCC Nationals and enabling them to be a driving force of their country’s economic development. It gives me great pride to launch this programme, and I’m confident that we will be able to mentor deserving TooMooH candidates towards their path to success.”
